Sketchy

---

It's the end of the year, again, save for a few bits and bobs which still need doing over the next month. I've finished Toil and Trouble, finally, and have posted it up. And now there's not a lot left to do until next autumn. Summer's going to be the same as it always is, no questions there, which will be both relaxing and stupidly boring.

But I have the same usual plans this year, which mostly include playing video games, writing, drawing and lazily learning more new things in 3ds max, so that I can come out even better next year and do something far better than this year. Damn, I'm gonna need a job soon.

We have to do a showreel for this other class, and it's a bit of a pain in the ass because nobody really likes what they've done so far, except for their final year projects. I'll finish mine and post
it up on here, probably not in the gallery page yet as I'm going to be working on putting new things in there all the time.

Drawing development's been a huge thing this year for me. I bought a sketchbook in September and have scanned all of the half-decent drawings and posted them up here, in a rough chronological order. They're all thumbnails, but you should be able to click on them and view larger sizes. There are some descriptions at the bottom, too

Here's a quick description of some of them, left to right, top to bottom

The first nine or so are all Batman villains - we havePoison Ivy,Commissioner Gordon,Harley Quinn in Christmas mode, calling a pudding "puddin'" (in traditional Harley style),Catwoman, Killer Croc, Mr Freeze and The Penguin

The next one is a Final Fantasy Behemoth, inspired from variety of different ones from different games. Next to that is a traditional Film Noir Guy standing in some snow. Someone else in a trenchcoat, possibly Olive from the yet-to-see-the-light-of-day comic I'm planning called the Wanderer (remember that?).

Next is a minimalist drawing of various Batman characters, which I found I could do with only a four-colour biro, using only two colour every time, while doodling in my notebook. The next is a very festive image of the Joker giving Batman a present, followed by three quick sketches on Photoshop.

The guy with the cigar is Kramer from Seinfeld, and followed by a sketch of some of my favourite animators of all time. (Clockwise from the top left - Tim Burton, Richard Williams, Hayao Miyazaki, Walt Disney, Pete Docter, John Lasseter, Osamu Tezuka and Tex Avery)

The two after I did for my friend Alice's project, about some superhero. Then there's a Cleopatra-esque figure, two girls of pretty nondistinct origin and a newer and much better self portrait.

Phew. That was a mouthful. I think I'll leave it at that.

Have a good night, world. I think I could do with some sleep.
